We pretty much let the cat out of the bag in the leadup article for the #1 category of Video Game Consoles, so without further ado, we give you the Microsoft Xbox 360. The PS3 and Wii may have been hotter than the Xbox, but hey, at least you can get an Xbox! So what do you get? The Xbox boasts not just gameplay, but high-definition video (720p/1080i/1080p), DVD movie playback, digital music, photos, and online connectivity. Not too shabby you Nintendo and Sony fanfolk. Powered by custom IBM PowerPC-based CPU with three symmetrical cores each running at 3.2 GHz, the Xbox also has a custom ATI GPU. Also in this little unit is a 12x dual-layer DVD-ROM drive, 64MB flash memory and an optional 20GB hard drive.

Thursday, November 30th, 2006“12 Gizmos of Christmas”: #1, Video Game Consoles
Thursday, November 30th, 2006After people have fought, rioted and been shot while waiting in lines for the mythical PS3 machines during the great 2006 PS3 Crime Spree, we had to make Video Game Consoles the #1 most requested and wished for item this season. While the PS3 garnered a lion share of the press regarding crazy people just needing some Sony gaming power, the Wii managed to outsell Sony hands down. Even the older XBOX 360 got in the act bringing Amazon to it's knees for over 15 minutes... of course the XBOX 360's sold out in only 29 seconds.

Panasonic TH-42PX60U 42″ Plasma HDTV
Thursday, November 30th, 2006The Geeks first featured an incredible LCD HDTV by Aquos so we figured we should feature a plasma display as well. This Panasonic is priced well and has become a best seller through online retailers... probably because of winning the consumer reports ratings.
If you don't trust consumer reports, check out the user ratings on Amazon. Out of 35 ratings, 29 were 5 stars and 3 people gave the set 4 stars. That's pretty impressive.

In the past, LCDs have been known to have issues with viewing angles and since LCD screens are backlit the blacks are not very accurate. These two issues are directly tackled by this Aquos display as the LCD provides a 176 degree viewing angle and a four-wavelength backlight system providing the most accurate black of any flat panel TV.
If you haven't seen this 52" LCD HDTV, go find one now... what are you waiting for?
“12 Gizmos of Christmas”: #2, HDTV Televisions
Wednesday, November 29th, 2006Sure we featured video products as our #4 spot in the survey, but HDTV televisions have broken out into their own category this year. We knew HDTV was going to be a best seller this year way back in January at the CES show. Every time you turned around at the show, you'd bump into HDTV products.
Without further ado... let us present you with the three top selling items in this category so you too can start to check out newscaster's pores and other skin imperfections on actors and actresses!

Wednesday, November 29th, 2006Creative Zen MicroPhoto 8 GB MP3 Player
Wednesday, November 29th, 2006This older player continues to receive positive feedback from people that purchase the gizmo and the sales ranking on online stores continues to be above average. The device has even been called an "iPod killer" but sales simply have not backed up that claim. Overall, the device is really a nice looking MP3 player. This is the MP3 player for people that hold a grudge against Apple!
Mostly we picked this MP3 player because we like the 1.5" OLED screen on the Creative Zen MicroPhoto 8GB MP3 Player... but, it's still not an iPod.
